Der Spanier Pedro Isern ist einer der namhaftesten von den auf Mallorca tätigen gewesenen Künstlern.
Er präsentiert hier ein Gemälde voller Kraft und Lebensfreude aus einer vom Künstler als besonders glücklich beschriebenen Periode. Intensive Farben und ein spontaner Duktus lassen das Glücksgefühl erlebbar werden.

Biografie:

Geboren in einer wirtschaftlich und kulturell aufstrebenden Zeit in Katalonien, hatte der Künstler eine glückliche Kindheit und Jugend. Sein Vater war Bauunternehmer und fortschrittlich motiviert.

Im Jahre 1894, mit der Unterstützung seiner Familie, präsentiert er sein erstes Werk, ein Kopf mit Bleistift, in der Kunstausstellung von Barcelona. Seinen Antrag auf Mitgliedschaft in der Akademie Sant Jordi zog er zurück und schrieb sich in die renommierteste und innovativste spanische Malakademie der Zeit ein.

Im Jahr 1896 reiste er nach Rom, wo er zwei Jahre lang blieb. Dann zog es ihn nach Paris, wo er die Arbeiten von Puvis de Chavannes bestaunte und sich nicht satt sehen konnte an den Impressionisten im Musée de Luxembourg. Er frequentiert die berühmten Cabarets und macht den Schulterschluss mit Lautrec und dem Katalanen Ramon Oller.

Nach einem Aufenthalt in Barcelona im Jahr 1904 verliert er kurzzeitig den Anschluss an das Pariser Kunstleben. Erst nach dem Krieg erlebt er eine neue Ära des Optimismus.

Währenddessen wächst allmählich sein Interesse an der eigenen Heimat, und er verbringt immer längere Zeit auf Mallorca. Er beteiligte sich an nationalen Wettbewerben und seine Malerei wurde konstant mehr geschätzt. Während des Bürgerkrieges im Jahr 1936 wurde er inhaftiert. Danach kehrte er erst nach Paris, dann endgültig nach Barcelona zurück, wo er bis zu seinem Tod blieb.

In den 1980er Jahren wurden seine Werke wiederholt auf großen Ausstellungen in Katalonien und in Madrid gezeigt. Einzelne seiner Werke haben bereits 6 und 7stellige Beträge in Kunstauktionen erzielt.

The Spanish artist is one of the most renowned painters of the working artists what has been in Mallorca. Born in an economically and culturally distinguished time in Catalonia, the artist had a happy childhood and youth. His father was a constructor and progressive motivated.

In 1894, with the support of his family, he presented his first work, a drawing of a head, at art exhibition in Barcelona. His application for membership in the Academy of Sant Jordi he moved back and became pupil of the most prestigious and innovative Spanish painting academy of the time.

In 1896 he traveled to Rome, where he remained for two years. Then he moved to Paris, where he admired the work of Puvis de Chavannes and could not get enough of the impressionists at the Musée du Luxembourg. He frequented the famous cabarets and makes the alliance with the Catalan Ramon Oller and Lautrec.

After a stay in Barcelona in 1904, he temporarily loses connection to the Parisian art world. Only after the war, he experienced a new era of optimism.

Meanwhile, his interest gradually grows in his spanish roots, and he always spends some time in Mallorca. He participated in national competitions, and his painting was valued more constantly. During the civil war in 1936 he was arrested. Then he went first to Paris, then finally back to Barcelona, where he remained until his death.

In the 1980s his works were shown repeatedly on major exhibitions in Madrid and in Catalonia. Some of his works have already achieved very high prices in art auctions.
